BPL Numbers Game 30


Liverpool not only thrashed Villa but also wrecked the most consecutive appearance record by a former Red.

0 - Arsenal are the only team in the BPL who are unbeaten in 2009 - Won eight and drawn eight of their last 16 league matches.

0 - Aston Villa have not won in their last eight games in all competitions.

1 - Steven Gerrard's treble for Liverpool was his first-ever in the Premier League.

2 - Spurs' 1-0 win over Chelsea was only their second victory in their last 38 league meetings.

2 - Bolton have now collected two out of 31 possible points.

2 - Everton conceded more than one goal in only two of their last 22 league matches.

3 - Manchester United failed to score in for the third time in the league this season, (inc. 0-0 at Villa, 22/11/08; 0-0 at Spurs, 13/12/08), nine games overall.

3 - Man United have lost successive games in the league for the first time since 2005, when they lost against Norwich and Everton - 148 games ago,

4 - Liverpool have been awarded four penalites in their last three games in all competitions.

4 - The number of times Danny Murphy has scored against Manchester United - (three for Liverpool, one for Fulham).

4 - The number of red cards earned last weekend.

5 - Chelsea have yet to win in five London derbies this season - their record reads: three draws and two losses.

5 - Liverpool have been awarded five penalties so far this season and converted every one of them. Whereas Man City have also totaled five penalties but lost their previously 100% record when Robinho missed their last one.

6 - Tottenham are now unbeaten in six league games - four wins; two draws since 31 January 2009.

8 - Arsenal have not lost in eight league and cup matches against Newcastle United.

8 - Liverpool have kept clean sheets in eight of the last 11 league games at Anfield.

8 - Manchester City have beaten Sunderland for the eighth successive time in the league.

12 - Wigan have scored more than one goal in just two league game in their last 12.

12 - Middlesbrough failed to score in 12 games this season - the most in the league.

22 - It's been 22 games since Everton lost by more than one goal in the BPL.

26 - Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 26 home games in the league - the current longest record.

27 - Stoke beat Middlesbrough at home for the the first time in 27 years in the top-flight. Their last win over Boro was the 2-0 victory at the Victoria Ground on 20 February 1982.

40 - Blackburn have scored more BPL goals against West Ham than any other club (40).

45 - Fulham have beaten Man United for the first time at home in the league in almost 45 years; Their last win was the 2-1 top-flight victory on 5 September 1964 - the same week Mary Poppins premiered.

50 - Fernando Torres played in his 50th Premier League game for Liverpool.

50 - Niclas Bendtner made his 50th career Premier League appearance (all for Arsenal).

50 - Peter Crouch have notched 50 career BPL goals (Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool and Portsmouth).

50 - Matthew Taylor scored his 50th career league goal on his 350th career league appearance (Luton, Portsmouth and Bolton).

100 - Steven Taylor made his 100th Premier League start for Newcastle.

100 - Paul Scharner made his 100th Premier League appearance for Wigan.

150 - Wayne Rooney did not have a happy 150th Premier League game for Man Utd - he was sent off for two bookable offences.

150 - Aaron Lennon recorded his 150th career league appearance (Leeds and Tottenham).

150 - Stewart Downing made his 150th Premier League start for Boro.

182 - Brad Friedel's record consecutive Premier League appearances ended at 182 after he was sent off against Liverpool. He will miss Villa's next league game against Man United at Old Trafford.

200 - Fulham have reached the milestone of scoring 200 home goals in the Premier League.

250 - Scott Parker made his 250th career league appearance (Charlton, Norwich, Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham).

300 - The number of starts Rio Ferdinand earned for Man United.

300 - Kevin Nolan made his 300th career league appearance (Bolton and Newcastle).

800 - Fulham celebrated their 800th fixture in top-flight football in style by beating Man Utd and getting their first back-to-back victories in 18 games.
